The CMW Annual Auction: Every year, we
meet at the Folk Art Center in Asheville for our annual tool, art, and wood
auction. We auction all of the "Demo" pieces from our demonstrators since the
previous October. The proceeds of these, along with any wood, turned objects, or
tools that members donate, help the club continue it's educational mission by
bringing great turners to demonstrate during the following year.
If you have such objects that you want sold so that you can get some money to purchase that special "widget", bring them and they will be sold to the highest bidder. The club will receive a commission and you will get the balance. If you have an object such as a lathe or table saw, etc., that is too large to bring, write out a complete description including its location and bring a picture or slide that we can project, showing the equipment. You may put a minimum bid on any object over $100. If it doesn't sell, there is no cost to you. Buyers pay with either cash or check.
The auction was great last year! We hope the next one will be even bigger!
